Client questions

When should I call my carrier instead of my agent?
Call your insurance carrier directly for the fastest service if you need a new insurance card, have questions about a claim or billing issue, want to confirm your coverage or benefits, have questions about prescription drug coverage or network providers, or need to update payment information.
When should I call my CSG agent?
Contact your agent if you want to review or change your plan, are considering switching to a different carrier, need help understanding your options during open enrollment, or have questions about which plan best fits your needs.
When can I switch my Medicare plan?
Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15 through December 7. Other changes may be allowed during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period or a qualifying Special Enrollment Period, depending on your current coverage and circumstances. Medigap has separate rules: outside your one-time six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, underwriting may apply unless you have a guaranteed-issue right or another state protection.
When can I switch an individual or family plan?
You can generally enroll in or change a Marketplace plan during the annual Marketplace Open Enrollment Period or after a qualifying life event that creates a Special Enrollment Period. Dates and eligibility rules can change, so confirm the current window at HealthCare.gov.
